Travelling from Germany or Austria to Croatia ...

 

By car to the Istrian peninsula

Those who want to be mobile while in vacation in Croatia, that is in Istria, but not be dependent on renting a car, can travel by automobile. Usually from Germany you travel through Salzburg and Villach, taking the Tauern motorway towards Slovenia. From here you travel in the direction of  Ljubljana and Postojna, and then over the Slovenian-Croatian boarder.

 

Your Travel to Svetvincenat/Smoljanci

Germany: Munich (BAB A8, direction Salzburg) – Rosenheim – border crossing Salzburg

Austria: triangle motor-road Salzburg, direction Villach – Radstadt – Spittal – intersection motor-road Villach, direction Ljubljana – border crossing tunnel Karavanka

Slovenia: Kranj – Ljubljana – Postojna – direction Gracišće – border crossing Socerga/Buzet

Croatia/Istra: Socerga/Buzet: direction Rijeka – Buzet – Roc – in Lupoglava take the main road in the direction of Pula: - Pazin – at the turn off “Žminj“ exit the main road – at the entrance to the main road turn left towards Žminj – at the next intersection turn right, in the direction Pula (on the right side you will see a petrol station) – Ferlina – after the sign with Svetvinčenat on it: go right towards Smoljanci (yellow sign-post), and after 3 km you will arrive at sign for Smoljanci – the third house on the left belongs to the “Stancija 1904“ estate. In front of the railway crossing you will see a wooden sign “Agrotourism Stancija 1904“, where you make a left turn into the entrance…you are now in the parking area of  "Stancija 1904"

Travelling from Switzerland to Croatia ...

 

By car to the Istrian peninsula

Those who want to be mobile while in vacation in Croatia, that is in Istria, but not be dependent on renting a car, can travel by car. The quickest way to Istria is through Italy and Slovenia.  Depending on your starting point, there are 4 variations. Choose the most favourable route.

 

Route 1:

Lötschberg - Simplon

 

Car transport by train from Kandersteg to Goppenstein

 

Car travel through Brig – Simplon – Iselle - Domodossola - Stresa - Milano

Route 2:

Lötschberg - Simplon

 

Car transport by train from Kandersteg to Iselle

 

Car travel through Domodossola – Stresa – Milan

Route 3:

Tunnel St.Gotthard - Bellinzona - Lugano - Chiasso Como - Milan

Route 4:

Tunnel St.Bernadino - Bellinzona - Lugano - Chiasso Como - Milan

All routes lead through Milan!

Italy: motor-road intersection Milan – drive on A-4, direction Venice – through Bergamo – Brescia – Verona – Vicenza – Padova – Venice - Trieste – diverging motor-road, direction Kopar (Capodistria) - be careful, you are at a round about and are leaving the direction Capodistria – now on the main road drive to the border crossing Škofje

 

Slovenia: Škofje: direction Kopar (Capodistria) – Izola (Isola) – Potrorož (Portorosa) – border crossing Sečovlje (Siccole)

 

Croatia: Sečovlje (Siccole) – direction Pula: Buje – Kaldanija – Krasica – Žudetići – Vižinada – Ferenci – Baderna – Sv. Lovrec – approx. 5 km after Sv. Lovrec you arrive at a diverging road where you drive left towards Pula – now you are on a main road and are crossing a bridge (on your left you see the Dvigrad runs) – after the bridge you turn off the main road at the next exit in the direction of Rovinj/Kanfanar – then drive right in the direction to Kanfanar: after the railway crossing go right – now you are driving parallel to the railway tracks – curve 900 to the left (on the right hand side you will see the railway crossing) – next diverging road go right in the direction of Maruzina – at the soccer grounds turn right in the direction of Smoljanci – Salambati:  curve 900 to the right – railway crossing tracks – now you see a sign with Smoljanci on it (on the left side there is a wine-cellar “Stari dub“ - after this curve, go left through the village Smoljanca – you will see a wooden sign with  “Agroturizam Stancija 1904“ on it and you cross the railway tracks – then straight away turn right … you are now located in the parking area of "Stancija 1904"

By car to the Istrian peninsula

From Rijeka, go through the Učka tunnel (toll) and take the main road in the direction of Pula: Pazin, at the „Žminj“ exit turn off the main road – at the entrance to the main road go left, direction Žminj – next intersection right, direction Pula (on the right side you will see a petrol station) – Ferlini – after the sign with Svetvinčenat on it: go right towards Smoljanci (yellow sign-post), after 3 km you arrive at a sign with Smoljanci on it - the third house on the left belongs to the “Stancija 1904“ estate. In front of the railway crossing you will see a wooden sign with “Agroturizam Stancija 1904“ written, where you turn left at the entrance … you are now in the parking area of “Stancija 1904“.
